morsbags

Welcome to the Two Doors Studio morsbag pod page.
We've been proudly making morsbags as a group at the studio in Alsager since the end of 2014 - and today our total stands at over 350 lovely Morsbags sewn and given away for free!

We meet once a month and anyone is more than welcome to come along and make a bag or two with us in Two Doors Studio's Front Room.  It doesn't matter if you've been sewing forever or if you've never sewn before - the more the merrier.

Look on this Web sites 'Community Groups' page for the next meeting.  Our meetings tend to be once a month on a Thursday at 7-9pm.  They cost £2.50 (with a hot drink included, and usualy biscuits or cake!).

So what is morsbags ?  A morsbags is a design for an easy to sew, long lasting shopping bag.  They are intended to help people stop using plastic bags.  Each one has the potential to eliminate 100s of plastic bags over its lifetime. Even better it prevents polluting marine habitat and damage to wildlife.  The group make them out of recycled or unused fabric and then give them away free.  So as well as having a great deal of fun, the group has a purpose in preventing wasteful use of plastic.

See the international morsbags web site for more info.

There are a number of morsbag Pods around the country, ours is just one.  We recently entered a national competition to design interesting morsbags. We chose Clarice Cliff designs.  We came second, which we are rather proud about.  See all the bags below:
